Gratitude For All Things (III)
Memory verse“And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever” (2 Chronicles 20:21).

The Bible is emphatic that all things work together for good for God’s children (Romans 8:28). God can always work out every ugly or bitter situation for our benefit if only we maintain right attitude, trust and obey Him, even when it does not seem to make sense.
A pastor was building his house. After logging the wood for roofing, he ran out of money to purchase roofing sheets. The rains came and the woods were in danger of going bad. Then he began to give thanks to God for the ugly situation. Soon, a miracle happened and the roofing was completed within the same month.
Three powerful nations once allied together against the kingdom of Judah. King Jehoshaphat confessed that they did not know what to do, but their eyes were upon the Lord. The Lord responded through His prophet, declaring that He would take over the battle and give them victory.
Not knowing what else to do, Jehoshaphat decided to start praising God for the situation. He assembled an orchestra to give thanks and praise God right in the face of the opposing armies, declaring the goodness and mercy of the Lord.
Friends, when you thank God in the face of an unpleasant situation, you are actually mocking the enemy who occasioned that situation. Eventually, the devil is disarmed by your show of gratitude and will terminate his assault on you. You can never go wrong by giving thanks and praises to God.
